Terrorism is about making us afraid to go out to public places. The people who commit attacks imagine they can scare us into limiting our own freedom by making the world seem more dangerous than it really is.
The intention of the bomber who killed 22 and injured more than 100 fans at an Ariana Grande concert two weeks before were defeated when Ariana and the people of Manchester defiantly joined together at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground Sunday afternoon to celebrate life while raising money for families directly impacted by the attack.
Over 50,000 people joined Ariana, Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Usher and Coldplay to sing, dance, laugh, cry, and to remember victims. Millions more watched the #OneLoveManchester benefit concert on TV and YouTube.
