For the millions of us who would rather get a mani-pedi while reading a good book rather than sit through ONE MORE SUPERHERO MOVIE about old characters created in the last century, Wonder Woman was a praise-worthy exception. I saw it and loved it.

In general, I prefer movies without explosions and where no one hits anyone, but if a film or TV series tells a creative story about an original character (Kickass & Jessica Jones are good examples), I can put up with a little undesirable violence.

I likely would have missed Wonder Woman all together if feminist friends who know me best hadn’t assured me that it would leave me cheering. They were right.

Themyscira - Paradise Island - Wonder Woman
Themyscira, the beautiful, penis-free city-state where Princess Diana grows up is my kind of utopia. As Diana crosses over into a world of man-driven war, I enjoyed her combination of innocence (why should it be this way?) and unbending strength.

Next week (Sept 19) Wonder Woman will be released on DVD and Blu-ray. It’s already out on streaming platforms.

To promote the DVD release, Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot started sharing some outtakes that will be included as extra features.

The bloopers from Wonder Woman are delightful, and make me anticipate at least one inevitable sequel.
